Extend 2008.4 Release Notes

Features and Enhancements

  • Added link specific icons for media items. These icons only display for links created on the Links tab on the Add/Edit Article page. Links created using the HTML Editor do not display icons.

  • Added the ability to select the channel a link displays in. Before, links displayed in the Homepage channel by default. Users can now select the specific channel they want.
  • Added the Last Published date to the article content page on the Presentation Side. The Last Published date displays at the botton of the article.

  • Added an Advanced User option to the User Profile page. When selected, a user can view all of the advanced options available in Extend. Currently, the only available advanced setting is global/local CSS/JavaScript.

  • Added the ability to let users add custom global and local CSS/JavaScript to their Extend Web site.

  • Passwords are now created and automatically e-mailed by the system to a new user. When the user logs into Extend for the first time, he will be required to change his password and update his user profile.

  • When updating the user profile, Extend suggests you select the Web Syndication and Indexing options.

  • Updated the password creation requirements. Passwords must now be 4-20 characters in length, and contain letters and numbers.
     
  • Added enhanced tooltips to the Dashboard, Add Content, adn User Setup pages.
  • Removed the Position field from the Attributes tab on the Add/Edit Article page.
     
  • Added a Roles tab to the Create User page. Roles can now be assigned to a user as soon as they are created.

  • Renamed Site Design/Channel Design to Global Design/Local Design in the Layout Manager.
     
  • Removed the Calendar Owner field from the Create New Calendar page. 

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected the issue with previewing Calendar Views and Photo Galleries.
  • Corrected the issue with the Return to Gallery link sending all galleries back to the Gallery View, and not just the gallery it was clicked for.
  • Disabled the Receive workflow emails and Send workflow emails options when Workflow is not selected.
  • Corrected the issue that occurred when a parent channel was assigned to an existing channel.
