Before you begin your call to the Extend Support department, start with this info first. This document should provide the resources needed to take your site LIVE just a little more simpler. So wither you’re buying a new domain or transferring your existing domain this will help you along the way, and so will we.
As I mentioned before, to begin, all domain and email requests are handled by the Extend Support department. They can be contacted during normal business hours for help, advice, and support with your domain questions and concerns. You can contact Extend Support for more info and or help with going live, but lets start here first.
Here are a few things to keep in mind before you begin.
- Who owns your Domain? Do you still know them?
You can view who owns your domain using the sites below. This information is vital since the domain owner will be required to authorize the transfer of the domain. Not knowing this information could cause delays in transferring the domain, we’re talking 60 to 90 days over and beyond.

- Is the domain locked?
Again the registrant will need to unlock the domain. If not they will need to have the ability to unlock the domain. Unlocking the domain is required for the transfer to take place between your current host and ACS.
- More Domain Info
Each domain has an authorization code. Only the registrant has access to this information. We’ll need that code to make the transfer as well.
- Emails
To start the process of setting up emails, before you contact Extend support. Please create a list all the email addresses you’ll need. We’ll also need to know who will be administrators on the list.
We set up email using Google Apps. You can find more information about the Google Apps editions on the Packages page. If you have any questions, please ask these during the setup process.
Additional things to keep in mind..
• You can start the domain process at any time in the development process; we encourage everyone to start early so to avoid uncontrollable delays and setbacks.
• Please remember after all the information is gathered and the official go live request has been made, the process of going live may take up to 48 hours. This time frame also includes the propagation period required for the World Wide Web.
• A good rule of thumb is to also request a backup of your current site before going live.
