Extend 2008.3 Release Notes

Features and Enhancements

  • Simplified the channel activation process. Before, the user was required to complete a three-step procedure to turn on a channel and publish the content to a Web site. Now, channels are still disabled after initial creation. To turn on a channel and publish the content, on the Layout Manager toolbar click Publish.
  • Removed the Action menu item Toggle On/Off
  • Replaced the enable/disable channel process with retract. Before, to stop a channel from displaying on the Presentation side, on the Layout Manager toolbar you clicked Disable Channel. Now, to stop a channel from displaying on the Presentation side, on the Layout Manager toolbar click Retract.

  • Added mms:// to the list of accepted protocols for the Links tab. Links with mms:// now stream directly from the Streaming server.
  • Changed RSS Feeds to Web Feeds.
  • Added more descriptive definitions to the default Settings tab on the User Profile.

  • Support Admins can now view partner IDs and change the site domain on the Site Profile. This enhances the Domain Go Live process.

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected issue with syndicated media not being returned in search results in the Media Manager.
  • Corrected issue in which an image could not be deleted from an article under the Image tab in the Article Manager.
  • Corrected issue with the Admin Login displaying an error when logging in to a network with a sub-domain.
  • Corrected issue with the Admin Search displaying an error when you attempt to export search results for articles and media items.
  • Corrected issue with the Admin Search displaying the error "ALL" as an Item Type when running a search.
  • Corrected issue with slide shows displaying at the same height when two or more are located on the same page.
  • Corrected issue with the Presenetation Search displaying expired articles in the search results.
  • Access ACS users can no longer log in to Access ACS restricted channels.
